i think it might have something to do with the American in me, ever since I can remember I have insisted on celebrating Halloween. My perception of this has a lot to do with a childhood favourite movie - Hocus Pocus, my sister and I were slightly obsessed with the idea that witches were real, salt was a legit form of protection, "Zachary Binx" was hot and magic was possible.
Whats better than combining Halloween and a house party - it worked 7 years ago in the Spring in South Africa (my house), and it worked in the Fall in San Francisco on Friday night! A mere 10min drive from the infamous Castro district, a house on the market was transformed into a hauntingly wicked party for over 50 people!
The party started just before 10pm. After a mad rush decorating the house with Sean and Cedar, we were quickly surrounded by vampires, witches, skeletons, eight balls, parrots, cowboys, police officers and more. Strobe light, fog machines and a punch resembling vomit we PARTIED!!! The real cops eventually shut us down, but it could not have been a more awesome party!
