What better way to travel and make money than to live and experience life in an American household doing the easiest (most times) job in the world?! I'd been thinking about au pairing in the States for quite some time and having been bitten by the travel bug as well as the small yet significant monthly income bug too - this is the best decision ever! Its a fairly easy process of applying and matching. Besides the psychosomatic 70 mcq test - Do you ever wake up in clothes you did not dress yourself in? Do you throw objects at people if you are angry? Do you find yourself to be the only other person in the world who acts and thinks the way you do? - I'm not psychotic, if that's what they were getting at?! SO after passing that test and deciding which family and where to go in the States, I'm all set to leave!
